Last visited October 2026“Our go-to for a relaxed afternoon. The lawn in front of the castle is perfect for a picnic and a run around. The playground's a letdown for now, but the big revamp can't come soon enough.”
Best for
Ducks! So many ducks, your little ones will be amazed how many come over to say hello. Just be careful near the river.
Worth knowing
A big revamp is coming (£3.5 million spend!) The children's play area is being completely redesigned and we can't wait.

- A few step-free entrances to choose from. Some routes have a small step up onto a bridge, but nothing you can't manage with a buggy.

- No baby change on site, but there are plenty of pubs or restaurants within walking distance.

- Events through the year especially for younger children, including teddy bears' picnics, Castle Day and more.
- Timing tip
- Fairly quiet at all times.
